Stavros Christodoulou

“I have no Manichaean logic at all in the way I create my characters. I do not believe in black and white; I believe deeply in the vast grey zone through which characters move.”
~ Stavros Christodoulou

Stavros Christodoulou was born in Nicosia in 1963 and studied Law at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

His debut novel, Hotel National (2016), was shortlisted for the Cyprus State Literary Awards and for the literary magazine Klepsydra. His novel The Day the River Froze (2018) received both the European Union Prize for Literature and the Cyprus State Prize for Fiction. His third novel, Three Flights of History, was published in 2020.
