Painter – Stelios Votsis (In Memoriam)
Stelios Votsis was born in Larnaca in 1929 and dedicated his life to art and culture in Cyprus. He studied at major art institutions in London, including Saint Martin’s School of Art, Sir John Cass College of Art, the Royal Academy and the Slade School of Art, graduating in 1955.
He was one of the leading figures of modern Cypriot art and played a key role in the establishment of the Cyprus Chamber of Fine Arts (E.KA.TE.). Considered the introducer of Cubism in Cyprus, he became known for his continuous exploration of new artistic forms and his bold approach to modern art.
He presented his work in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Cyprus and abroad, earning international recognition.
