Visual Artist – Maria Loizidou

Maria Loizidou is a visual artist whose work connects personal and political narratives surrounding colonialism, war, oppression, minorities and social rights in Cyprus.

Her practice includes drawing, animation, video, sculpture and hand weaving, while her work has been presented in important international exhibitions and collaborations in Paris, London and Athens. In 1986, she represented Cyprus at the 43rd Venice Biennale, and in 2017 she participated in documenta 14.

Her works are installed in public spaces in Cyprus and abroad, creating spaces for dialogue and collective experience.
