Niki Marangou (1948–2013) was a poet, prose writer, and visual artist. She was born in Limassol, studied sociology at the University of Berlin, and upon returning to Cyprus collaborated with the Cyprus Theatre Organisation and the press, while also running the “Kochlias” bookshop in Nicosia for many years.
Her work spans poetry, fiction, children’s literature, and painting. Her published books include the poetry collections From Gardens, Indiction Begins, and Divan 1967–2000, as well as novels, short stories, and fairy tales. She received State Literary Awards in Cyprus, the Cavafy Prize, and an award from the Academy of Athens.
