Costas Lymbouris was born in Nicosia in 1950 and grew up in Kato Dikomo. He worked as a philologist in secondary education, eventually serving as a high school principal, and was actively involved in cultural and educational organisations.
His work has been published in literary journals, and he has authored several short story collections, with Of Our Others receiving the Cyprus State Prize for Literature. He has also served as Cultural Attaché of the Republic of Cyprus in Athens and has contributed to the promotion and study of Cypriot literature.
